Asteria's Press, an imprint of Hadean Press Limited, evolved from the Magickal Women Conference and our desire to publish a series of four anthologies featuring stories connected to the elements of Earth, Air, Fire, and Water, be they found in the world around us, or forged from the elements themselves. Elemental Fractions: EARTH is the first in the series. Submissions are now open for AIR.

The current aim of Asteria’s Press is to publish occult fiction – fiction with a supernatural theme, or involving rituals and conjurations, or focused on grimoires, etc., and which is usually based in the real world rather than a fantastical one, although there is no reason it couldn’t be set in another realm. Here is a wonderful essay from 2018 by Isobel Blackthorn which not only describes what occult fiction is but also offers numerous examples of both recent and classic stories in this genre.
